Amy joined ATL Pelvic Health with a passion for working with patients with pelvic floor dysfunction through the lens of an Occupational Therapist. Amy was immediately intrigued by pelvic health during a guest lecture about sexual health and pelvic floor dysfunction in graduate school at NYU. After that class, she dug into that interest by taking multiple pelvic health courses and applying what she learned in a hospital setting with antepartum and postpartum women. She loved how she could help people from the ‘inside’ out. She specializes in pelvic pain and sexual function and she wants to empower her clients to feel comfortable and be able experience pleasure.

Amy takes a holistic and individualized approach to pelvic health. She focuses on looking at the person as a whole rather than focusing solely on a condition or diagnosis to ensure long term results. Amy uses her clinical knowledge to help her clients with pelvic floor issues to optimize function and improve their ability to participate in daily activities and interests.

Becca was drawn to pelvic health physical therapy in 2017 while pregnant with her daughter -experiencing first-hand how pregnancy and childbirth change a woman’s body. Most mothers she meets have lingering pregnancy-related issues they want to address, such as diminished core strength, diastasis recti, leaking with high-impact activity, or pain during sex. As she has treated more women with persistent low back pain or achy hips, she sees these seemingly unrelated conditions can sometimes be addressed through focusing on the pelvic floor.

Pelvic health is a vital aspect of women’s health, and she is passionate about improving access to pelvic floor PT in my community.

Since graduating from Mercer University in 2014 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, she has worked in a variety of settings to help patients heal their bodies and achieve their goals. She believes the best treatment plan incorporates not only a patient’s symptoms and their causes, but also their unique perspective and personal experience of their condition. Her hope is to help you learn about and connect deeply to your body, and enjoy living in it.

When she is not treating patients, she enjoys camping and hiking with her family. She also loves yoga and meditation and frequently incorporates aspects of both into her treatments.
